Funny! But YIKES, kind of sad….

I just started my site/blog a few weeks ago, and I’m happy that I’m planning to stick to a regular posting schedule (2-3x week is my goal for now). Even when I see a lot of news relating to digestive health, I just bookmark to return to it. I’m concerned about not posting timely items quickly enough, but I’m also concerned about burning out overwhelming my readers.

I did “sin” (according to your list) and created a site when there are many others which cover the same topics, but I wanted to offer a fresh take and common-sense opinions, and encourage people to help each other. We’ll see how it works out! I’m not counting on thousands of readers overnight but am hoping for steady growth.

Anyway, bit of a ramble, but thanks for the humor and putting things in perspective – I think a lot of new bloggers should read that post!

“Never take a break from blogging. Fresh air and exercise are for those wimps who can’t stick to as grueling a schedule as you’re able to maintain”

Heh, that actually applies to regular people who go to work too. I also like the point about adsense and the tech-savvy audience.

As I type, going on 8 hours today at the computer, the pain in my lower back is excruciating. But I do it to hopefully someday to make a living online. Its like night school – no payoff yet, very little satisfaction, outside of the occasional adsense pop out of nowhere.

4 hours of sleep every night is tough, only because my eyeballs are screaming dry from staring, without blinking, at the monitor till 3am the night before. Could you recommend some good eye drops?

  4. Very nice way of saying it :-)
I remember what Darren said in one of his post.

One of the problems with the blogosphere is that it can be a place where hype is ’spun’ and where people develop unrealistic expectations of what blogging can do for them.
    :-)

  5. Nice post :-)
I agree. Sometimes all you need to increase your productivity is to take a break. This may be a break from writing on a particular blog or a break from blogging altogether.

  6. I find it hard to take a break because my mind won’t shut off. I too have sore, red eyes from continually staring at the computer monitor – optex eye drops are good !!
