Link generously - you will reap what you sow

In all the ways you can, In all the places you can,
At all the times you can, To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.”

I’ve been blogging for about a year and a half, but only started blogging seriously a couple of months ago. Since then I’ve encountered some really kind and helpful people. I’ve been impressed by their generosity. I’ve also been amazed at the stinginess of what I think [hope] is a minority of the blogosphere.
I knew vaguely that there was this “nofollow” thing, but have been too swamped with the other 1.1 million things I need to get done to really figure out what it was about. So, I appreciated Dawud Miracle’s recent post on removing nofollow from comments, as it helped to clarify the issue for me. He posted a link to a plugin called “DoFollow“, which I installed this morning. Why wouldn’t you want to install this plugin? Akismet will catch the spam. I am grateful for anyone who stops by here for a visit, and even more grateful for those who encourage and challenge me with their comments.
Bring on the link love!
Thanks for your comments on my guest post David, Char, Easton, Amanda and Carolyn.

Thanks for the mention, Randa.
I really enjoy blogging mostly for the conversations. It’s amazing to see how blogging can create such amazing and open dialogue between people.
Randa,
I finally installed the dofollow plug in on one of my blogs - a few more to go - but it is my goal to get it done today.
So glad you joined the blogosphere!
I totally agree Randa, I removed nofollow over a month ago, though I used a different plugin. It’s nice to hand out the Google juice to your commenters and you definitely don’t lose out, with the power of anti spam plugins now.
Glad to hear you made the change too.
That is not the onl reason that I have linked you
Hi Randa,
I’ve just hit the publish button on my post about removing nofollow.
Had I read this first I’d have included you in the short list of people who use the plugin.
Ciao for now,
David
I added it to my blog when I first opened my site. I heard about it from 5MinutesForMom.
I did the same. It is a great idea for encouraging comments. I particularly like david airey’s scheme as well (adding a link in the next post for the previous comments).
Great post, I also use Do-Follow, as well as the comment plugger, where it inserts the name and link into the post you comment on, it is a great way to share the love!
This is becoming quite a movement - it’s great.
Thank you for the fantastic post. I just installed Dofollow this afternoon =)
I had just been to David Airey’s blog and came here via there…
So the question is, do you think google will discount blogs with no no-follow in their comment links?
This concern has kept me from tagging along…
The general consensus, and notably the opinion of Andy Beard is that removing nofollow will in no way hurt you with Google, as long as you moderate your comments and keep the junk out.
Dawud Miracle,
I do totally agree with you! The conversation that follow the post is what makes the blogging experience alive! And that’s what amazed me at first, that is to connect with people with similar interests and questions as me….
Dofollow only adds the spice to it!
Cheers,
Frédéric Panek
I’m a new no nofollow convert. I use the Dofollow wordpress plugin now and am loving it. Blogging is acommunity activity and this helps blogging. Comments and interactions are vital and I’m glad I’ve discovered this. Nice blog and thanks for spreading the word!
