Which is more difficult- marriage or motherhood?

Jan 08

This video obviously comes from a completely secular perspective, but I thought it was an interesting discussion.  They’re both difficult, but I think parenting is far more difficult than being a spouse.  What do you think?

Marriage is tougher. kids can not cheat on you.

Finding the right relationship takes time and a little luck. But it is worth it if you meet that special someone at the end of it all.

  2. I think marriage is tougher… but I’m a man and can only represent one side of the conversation. 🙂

As for finding the “right relationship”… eh. We have some friends that decided to get along and that was that. They have honestly never had a fight. It’s wonderful, but it’s rare. Marriage is a commitment because it is a covenant. It’s a promise, written and witnessed. It is the strongest written contract we have. And breaking it *ought* to be the most difficult decision for us to make.

    It ought to be.

Now excuse me while I now go and eat right, work out everyday, pray without ceasing, and speak only when i have something good to say.

  3. I’d have to say that parenting it tougher simply because you can’t reason with a child or take time away because the child needs your care. Of course, sometimes the person you’re married to seems to be absent of the ability to reason or be fair. Maybe it’s both at once that is so challanging. But that’s life. Good things take effort and work.
