Self-contract meme

Feb 03

Laura at Writing Thoughts has tagged me to write a Contract Meme. This sounds a bit like New Year’s resolutions, which I never make, because it drives me crazy to say I’m going to do something and then fail to do it. However, it is preferable to approach the business of life with “intentional” purpose, rather than just floating along willy-nilly, so here goes:

I will prioritize the physical world over the virtual one, and remember that this physical world is only temporary, and all difficulties here are only “momentary light afflictions.”
I will work to exceed the expectations of any customers God blesses me with, seeking always to become a better designer and writer.
I will not obsess over how much money my efforts in the virtual world are bringing in, because my main role in life is not to make money, it is to help my husband and care for my son.

To tag or not to tag, that is the question. I’m very tempted to tag Abby Cavanaugh, because it I know it would really annoy her. But, I won’t. In fact, I’ll let this one end here for now, and go back over to Laura’s site to try and learn how to become a better writer.

  1. Wow Randa, you’ve got it up already! I like your comment that “all difficulties here are only “momentary light afflictions,”” and I love the scripture reference.

I hope I didn’t annoy you too much by tagging you. It seemed like New Year’s resolutions for me too, and I also don’t do New Year’s resolutions. But, I didn’t see any harm in playing along with it and I see where it can help crystallize one’s goals.

    Keep up the good writing!

  2. Definitely not annoyed!
