You complete me

The year after Mark and I got married, we went to Texas for Christmas. Before that trip, Mark was just a regular run-of-the-mill shoe wearer. Since then, he’s had multiple pairs of boots, and doesn’t wear regular shoes at all, if he can help it. He never knew his identity was incomplete. Boots “complete” him. I have a great uncle who goes by the name “Boots” and has for almost all his life, and I have tried to convince Mark that he should adopt the same nickname. He is a wannabe Texan, and I think it would be just perfect if he found a church to pastor down there, in the land of perpetual heat and humidity, and he could be Pastor Boots Clay. Actually, in Texas, they don’t say Pastor So-And-So, they say Brother So-And-So, which is abbreviated Bro. when the bulletins are printed. So… he could be known as Bro. Boots!
