For a laugh..

If you want to have a little laugh at my expense, check out my first web site – I think I did it about 10 years ago. It was on Geocities, which Yahoo ended up buying. Geocities was a place where you could host a site for free (without ads even!) and was laid out in “neighborhoods”, and you chose the neighborhood you wanted to be in based on what kind of content you were going to have on your site. It was a nice little community for a while. The only reason I haven’t completely deleted the site completely by now is that there is this silly list on there- “100 Ways to be Annoying” that surprisingly enough, still gets some traffic. I remember passing the list around at work all those years ago and everyone thinking it was so funny. Now, it just seems sort of lame. (I am not the author of the list, in case you were wondering) Anyway… since Google page rank is partially determined by how many times your site is linked from other sites, I just stuck a couple of links on the Geocities site and kept it out there in the hopes of improving the page rank of randaclay.com.

Here are a couple of items from the annoying list:

• If you have a glass eye, tap on it occasionally with your pen while talking to others.
• Invent nonsense computer jargon in conversations, and see if people play along to avoid the appearance of ignorance.
• Finish all your sentences with the words “in accordance with the prophecy.”
• As much as possible, skip rather than walk.
• Start each meal by conspicuously licking all your food, and announce that this is so no one will “swipe your grub.”

Silly…
