Photoshop rules

I’ve been looking at lots of photos online lately, and assumed that the difference in the quality was that those people had better cameras than I did. Well, I just ran across a Photoshop tutorial that made me realize that many of these images that I’ve seen that I thought were so amazing were good pictures to start with made even better with Photoshop. Take a look at the images below. The one on the right is the enhanced version.  It’s a nice picture of Jack to start with, but the color and clarity of the enhanced version makes it far superior.

    Unfortunately it looks like you lose a bit of detail on his face when you enhance the colors–he looks just slightly washed out. Nice colors, though!

    The picture looks great! Scott and I are still trying to learn all the ins & outs of Photoshop, because unfortunately, photos from a digital SLR actually take more post-processing than photos from a point-and-shoot. A long and tedious process…
