I think that Performancing Metrics is not rival for with Google actually. With last updates big G go ahead to all competitors. Also PM have lost spots in web stats.

Dara I'm sorry to hear about your analytics suite. Do you guys think that Performancing Metrics is better than G-Analytics? From what I understand Google is always adding new features and not to mention, its free.

This does look good. I like StatCounter, but from the looks of the comparison on the Performancing Metrics website, this has a lot more advantages to it. The integration of Google Maps and the, ahem, "juicy" details on your visitors is also very attractive... it's one of the things I really like about StatCounter.

Personally, I think that google analytics pretty much ended the whole 'statistics arms-race'. They released it a few days after I'd just coded my own suite of Analytics tools, which are currently gathering dust on a harddrive somewhere ...

Randa, have you tried Google Analytics since the update to it's interface? I'm surprised you found it hard to get into, it's so intuitive at a high level, but has the depth to get some really useful data.

Can Performancing Metrics compete with Google, who has renowned names (i.e. Jeff Veen, I believe) improving it's UI?

Webmasters often forget what role plays a good site analyzer. Let's take for example the country of visitors, i mean, if you find out that 80% come from the united-states, you will try to target these people. The program you describes actually looks pretty good, i'll try the free trial. If it even tells us what referrers send us the best traffic to monetize a website, i could use that for 1-2 of my projects!

Chino - you're talking about commenting on the Performancing main site? Yes, I think they've made a calculated decision to force registration because one of the main purposes is to build a community.

it does look good and seems good but what I dont like is... to still make guests to register just to comment. However, that is one nice way to prevent spammers. Though, it takes a lot of time to register, verify.. then you will know you already forgot what you want to say.
