Learn to customize your theme

I designed the DIY Theme specifically to be easy to customize, and am working my way through a series of posts to help beginners learn to do that. The first post is up at my main site: The easy way to learn CSS and customize your blog theme. I hope it’s helpful!

    Thanks for this theme, I’m going to try it out on my new site. I always would spend hours customizing old themes, now it’s nice to have one with cutomability built in. Can you also customize how many columns (for example 2 instead of 3?) Thanks

    I would like to try your Bluebird Theme -t looks beautiful and the comments are positive. But I confess that I am a neophyte. After I download the Bluebird, do I just start edidting it, then upload it to my website? I am so sorry to trouble you and thanks for your response.

    Thanks for the tips on learning CSS - it is something I struggled with until a few weeks ago, when I thought, just get a theme and mess around with it, and them mess some more!

    I have been learning by trial and error so far (it has worked), but your post will help me a lot…

    i’ve spent months for learning to customize my own theme, but i really don’t understand the tutorials. haha. so difficult to understand the codes. But i have a plan to concentrate more in lesrning css. Css is important for designing blogs and websites.

    When I first started tinkering with Wordpress I used to mess around with the actual Wordpress core files - oops! Now I realise stick with customising the theme only :)
