Jack @ 4 Years Old
Jul 21
Jack has always been been a naturally very cautious child. He wants to be in control and even things like swinging on a swing set have made him feel out of control and no amount of encouragement makes any difference to him. He will do things when he’s good and ready and not a moment sooner. This summer though, he’s feeling more confident and things that previously struck fear into him are now just things to enjoy. Jack went to his first movie in a theater this month. We tried to see a movie when he was two and it was just too much- way too loud and big for him. Now though, he really enjoys going to the movie theater. We’ve had the opportunity to swim a couple of times and the water is not nearly as scary as it was last year.
A couple of moments:
Last Sunday in Sunday School, the topic was sharing. The teacher asked each child what they would like to share, and when she got to Jack he thought a while and then said “my little brother David.”
“What is God’s last name?” Mark’s answer “AM”. His first name is “I”. He’s convinced, no matter what we tell him, that God lives way, way out in outer space on a planet somewhere.
