Trip to the library
Mar 01
The Columbus Metropolitan Library has been rated #1 in the nation for a number of years, and it really is one of the things that makes living in Columbus nice. I used to go to the downtown library pretty regularly before we moved to Chicago, but yesterday was the first time I’ve been down there since we moved back a year and a half ago. Every time I walk into the library I get that “library feeling” thinking of all the things there are to read and do – the endless entertainment (does anyone else know what I mean by that “library feeling” or is it just me?) That feeling makes me want to just camp out there all day in a comfy corner with a big pile of books.
Anyway, the whole point of me mentioning the library in the first place is to say that I had no idea what a great kids area they had! We went there for toddler story and song time, in which Jack lasted through one song before he just couldn’t be still any longer. That was okay, because it meant we had the whole play area to ourselves. The play area had so many great toys and activities- even a soft leather couch to lounge on while I watched Jack play and interact with the other kids (and by interact, I mean push them around and grab their toys). Jack had a great time. If you live in Columbus, and have kids I would highly recommend a visit.
Next time you go take scrapbook paper scraps with you and use the Ellison Die Cut Machine! It is located in the kids section. Our kids have fond memories of going to the downtown library on Steve’s day off. They had a large computer area for kids to use before any of the branches did. It was always a special treat.
