14 Months

Jack was 14 months old on Sunday. He’s got decent vocabulary going- he says baby, bite (which he’s gotten mixed up with bye bye, so says “bu-bite” plaintively, hoping you’ll give him something tasty), cracker (ca-kee, his favorite food, is any kind of cracker), out, bear, duck, cat, go, bye, car, boots and da-da. Da-da refers to all of his “people”, not neccesarily just to Daddy. He does know who everyone is- I can ask him “where’s Mommy?” and he’ll pat my face… and then say insistently “Da-Da!”, it’s like he’s trying to correct me.
Jack still dearly loves to be outside, and he loves most of all being outside riding in his little plastic car. He is such a sweet and happy boy. He sometimes walks around a room with his hands up in the air, babbling with an extatic grin on his face, like he’s so happy, he just can’t contain himself. I hope he never loses that joy in life, and pray that by God’s grace he comes to know the only true, complete, extatic joy of knowing Jesus as Lord.
His way of expressing affection these days is to lean his head up against yours. Here he is giving Emily some lovin’. (She looks a little scared, doesn’t she?)
