Jack @ 4 Years, 8 Months
Mar 25
This month we’ve finally gotten into a routine with regards to doing a little schoolwork each day, unless the Sillies get the better of us, which they are wont to do now and then. Jack is working through Handwriting Without Tears, and it’s been excellent so far. I’ve noticed him reading Bob books during rest time just for fun, so am hoping he’ll enjoy reading for pleasure in the same way I do.
Mark has set apart a section of the back yard for a garden, and is really involving Jack in the process and he’s loving it. We’ve given him 2 big barrel planters on the back patio to “own” and he has decided to plant roses in them.
Jack has always been a naturally cautious kid, which has it’s benefits. I never had to worry about him doing dangerous things on the playground like I do David. But, there comes a point at which you need to try things and trust Mommy or Daddy to keep you safe, and he has a very hard time with that. Finally, just this month, he’s agreed to go on the swings at the playground and found that it’s not that bad after all, and maybe even a little bit fun!
