A poetic irony

I have begun saying that in the dictionary next to the entry for “Strong Willed Child” there is a picture of Jack. Check out this post at Lifehacker. Recognize that child? It’s Jack in our backyard. How did they get his picture? I share pictures at a site called stock.xchng. It’s a free “stock” photography site that I have used A LOT in the past year in web and print design, and I have recently begun sharing my own photos if they turn out nice enough for others to use. I knew people were downloading them, but it’s a pleasant surprise to see someone actually using one! I found it as I was googling this morning for tips on working with a strong willed toddler… I am highly amused that the first link I clicked on had Jack’s picture next to the advice.
As a side note, I thought the tip was a really good one about telling the child what TO do instead of what NOT to do as often as you can.
wow, isn’t that incredible! what a coincidence to find your own child’s photo on such a famous blog while looking for some parenting tips.
That’s a good idea to share your photos on stock.xchng. When I finally get myself a DSLR, I’ll also join.
The other day, I was asking my daughter to give me the book she was reading and wash hands before dinner. She was holding it tight, wasn’t giving it to me. So I pulled it and grabbed it from her and heard: “Hey, don’t grab the book. That’s rude!”
I was shocked. I would’ve told her “Don’t be rude”, without actually explaining why is she being rude.
Don’t you have a feeling that sometimes kids are much smarter than we are?
