Wondering what to buy that person in your life who is addicted to the computer and blogging? Christmas is just around the corner and I have some ideas for you:
Journal
Every blogger needs someplace to jot down their thoughts and plan out blog posts. There’s something about getting away from the computer and sitting down with a journal that helps get the flow of ideas started. This leather journal from Kiki James is one I recently received and it is simply beautiful. The cover is a soft, buttery leather and the pages have almost a handmade paper feel to them. They have a variety of colors and styles- I got the pink one. The paper is unlined, so it’s nice for doodling design ideas as well as scribbling notes.
ProBlogger Book
ProBlogger: Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income is required reading for anyone who is new to blogging, as well as those who have been doing it for years. Just take a look at this story of what one experienced blogger learned from the book and the difference it made in her career and life. I’ve read the book and highly recommend it.
T-Shirt
How about a blogging t-shirt? The WiFi Detector t-shirt is genius!
Membership to a Forum or Training Program
The gift that keeps on giving- a membership to Performancing Hive or Authority Blogger would make any blogger happy.
Anti-Glare Filter for the Computer Screen
Staring at the computer for hours and hours can be very hard on the eyes. An anti-glare filter screen is a perfect gift for computer addicts.
Desk Lamp
Good lighting at one’s desk is essential. I have this one from Target and it’s beautiful.
Ergonomic Keyboard and Mouse
I have this awesome Microsoft wireless keyboard and optical mouse and I LOVE it. The keyboard is not SO ergonomic that it’s difficult to use, but it just has a little curve to it that makes it much more comfortable.
Caffeine
Coffee is always a great gift for those who drink it. If the person you’re buying for is not a coffee drinker, then how about some candy? I hear that Shock-A-Lots are awesome, and this caffeine candy sampler is pretty cool too.
A Massage
Sitting in front of the computer for a long time can lead to a stiff neck and shoulders, and bloggers are notoriously bad about getting away from the desk to loosen up a bit. A massage would definitely be a welcome gift.
What about you? What do you want for Christmas?

Of all the above presents, I for one will definitely pick a massage. I blog about massage and it’s benefits so I know (trust me!). It will amongst other things, put you in the right frame of mind for more blogging!
Teknomaxxi
Sirke Suyu
As a newbie blogger (I mainly run the design and commerce side of my site) I have to say these are some great ideas. I am still addicted to lists and you can’t beat a lovely notebook. You just can’t beat a good Moleskine, or for a lower budget but still lovely option, how about a paperblank (www.paperblanks.com). I don’t go anywhere without one.
A nice massage is sounding quite appealing at the moment as by back is hurting at the moment. Think it must be my old computer chair. Oh theres a thought – could ask for a nice new chair for christmas. Its definately an essential if you are spending many hours at the computer.
ProBlogger Book is a very good things for young blogger.
Yeah,a massage is required everyone blogger.
I am putting a new wireless keyboard, and mouse on my list to santa to help me with my internet marketing news site.
a good information also can consider as a gift. It’s not about the price, most important is the value it self.
a pro blogger book maybe a little help but i think the information at the book can also find on the net and not teaching much the techniques and information that a blogger will need to learn.
The best Christmas gift for an “addicted” blogger? Get him more visitors and advert deals, probably.
The soft pillow (because the majority of bloggers work very much more) will be the most good gift to Christmas to the blogger and fall asleep on the computer (joke)
.
And if a serious, it the journal for records and sketches would be better!
I agree with most of the comments. I like the idea of writing a blog about what are good gift ideas for bloggers. It’s the new media to get information from. Thanks for sharing!
There are so many blogs out there. I think a good gift would be a personalized blog list of favorite blogs on a customized “for the recipients interest” list. Wouldnt that be cool? It would take a lot of time, this I know. http://www.lapcfixer.com/repair.cfm
I would suggest buying a blogger one Terabyte of external hard disk to back up all the contents of his/her website.
I think that a blogger should have some vocation or charisma, and books with the tips of such a kind are useless here.
These are some good ideas for blogger gifts. I don’t really need most of these, but I might tell my Mom about the ProBlogger book — this is one that I do not have yet and contains information that could be useful.
I’ve read the Probloggers book. I wasn’t terribly impressed, though I have to admit I am somewhat of a veteran on the Internet so there weren’t really any secrets or new information in there for me. For the beginner, it’s a good start.
My favorite idea on that list is the massage. My wife bought me a membership at Massage Envy (I think it’s a national franchise) last year for Christmas and I love it. I get at least one massage a month, sometimes more. It’s by far the best thing for me. Not only does it help my body, but it gives me that hour to just unwind and brainstorm a little without my cell phone ringing or my inbox beeping from new mail.
I agree with “Web Design Company”, a iPhone, blackberry, or maybe even a Netbook would be a great addition for a blogger.
Some good ideas, thanks!
I would really want the next three things for Christmas:
1) Membership to a Forum or Training Program; I really want to become a great blogger for the next year.
2)Anti-Glare Filter for the Computer Screen; My eyes are screaming out loud that they need something like this!
3) A Massage: sitting in front the computer for 15 hours a day is killing me! I think this is what I most need.
So if someone need a virtual friend to buy some gifts just let me know!
Best Regards! Nice Ideas!
A nice pillow is more than enough for me
Some really great ideas – my christmas list keeps getting bigger and bigger
Fingers crossed.
I’d prefer a Windows mobile with high connectivity and a decent screen to keep me connected preferably Samsung Omnia (I don’t quite like the design but a good powerful phone)
Yeah very funny as if bloggers are not really people but some sort of special beings and all they do is sit in from of pc (or apple, pardon Apple) and write, write, write. Here’s your caffeine, here’s your massage, here’s your blogger’s bible, write and enjoy until the end of electricity.
But if I’m to be real, for a blogger as serious as Randa the best present would be a trip to the very beautiful and high mountains, say for week. Imagine a new energy, new photos, new wows that would come out of this trip!
Oh, I better give him a Wi-Fi T-shirt detector… I’m sure he will love it!
Coffee is a great gift for coffee lovers. You know they will drink it everyday!
Anyone with a decent entertainment system will love a nice universal remote. Logitech and Sony make nice ones.
I’d prefer a Windows mobile with high connectivity and a decent screen to keep me connected preferably Samsung Omnia
I have a blogger friend. Hardly sleeps, eats at his workstation, sleeps there sometimes. A gift for him? I guess time to be away from his notebook and from blogging, even just for a few hours. So I guess I would give him free tickets to a movie or concert, or maybe a day out in the beach. This time out will do him a world of good, I think.
I never thought about this at all! I think the massage is the one I’ll go for.
How about an iPhone. This would allow you to easily monitor your blog as well as others through a new Google reader app that is available for free. Not bad reading on the small screen once you get used to it!
I think I prefer the ergonomic keyboard and mouse as a christmas gift..
and also a relaxing massage.. hmm…
