Linkbaiting for niche blogs is almost impossible if your blog is purely commercial and product based like some of mine. Why?

As soon as the other bloggers see that your site is for commercial use, they leave in a heart beat. However, I did say ALMOST.

It’s tough but there is a way to get some inbound links on a product based blog. You can create good posts that present a REALLY cool product. If it’s interesting enough you may get some bloggers linking in to the post. These are far and few between though.

As i recently saw propeller is the thing to do if you want to bring your story at google’s first page. And most propably more than just one listings. Was only a few days ago when i submitted a story at propeller under 3 different categories and i got 3 spots at first page, one for each category.

Link baiting is a really interesting topic, but I think it is still mainly suited for international sites targeting primarily US/UK and English-speaking countries. What I look forward to, is link baiting and social niche sites getting more popular in some none-English countries, e.g. the large European countries

do you think that ‘baiting’ is a gives the term ‘linkbaiting’ a bad precedence? it seems that some people think that ‘linkbaiting’ automatically means a trap of sorts. in the same breath, does google penalize for the term ‘linkbait’?

Link baiting is getting more and more interest from marketers these days. The more that marketers learn the ins and outs of this, the better…although there are talks/beliefs that this may be countered by Google and other PPC/PPV campaigns. Heard anything about this yet?

Sometimes I wish I was more of a graphic artist, so i could add cool art to my link baits.

Regardless though, I think linkbaiting is going to become the favored marketing technique on the web for a long time to come …
