One of my favorite WordPress theme designers is Brian Gardner. His themes are sharp and uncluttered and really easy to work with. I use his Blue Zinfandel theme on several sites and find them very user-friendly- not junked up with a lot of unnecessary code.
Brian has a new theme out called DropShadow – when he released it at the end of February, I almost downloaded it and installed it immediately on this site, I liked it so much. But… in the end, I guess I still prefer a three column theme and will stick with this one for now. Anyway, check out Brian’s site and theme collection- I highly recommend him to you.
Thanks for your comment on the previous post Richard.

I agree – Brian does wonderful design work. I have downloaded a few of his themes and plan on using them in the future.
Personally, I can’t wait for you to create a collection of your own unique themes – you have the talent!
Char, you’re so encouraging, thank you. I admit, I have thought quite a bit about designing a theme. Your encouragement may help me to actually get off my rear and do it! Now, if I could just find the time…
Time – what’s time? It’s overrated! You can do it – and it will be great.
Guess this means I should come out with a 3 column version of Dropshadow, huh Randa???
Thanks for the awesome words!!!! As you know, I’m in the middle of starting up my web design business, and working towards Brian Gardner 2.0.
When this takes place, Dropshadow 3-Column will be the first new theme released, and I’ll let you know!
Good! I’m looking forward to it!
I’m a huge fan of Brian Gardner myself, and have setup at least a half dozen blogs for friends using his excellent work, particularly Vertigo. I need to swap my own blog to one of his themes. I seem to be too busy reading other blogs though!
Yes, it’s hard to find time to one’s own blog for some reason, especially when you’re always working on someone else’s!
I had to chime in, considering I use Brian’s Vertigo theme on my own blog.
Designing my own theme is something I’d quite like to do too. Hmmmm.
More than happy with Brian’s offering for now though.
As you may already know .. I’ve been looking for a wordpress theme that will do some of what I need it to do. I really like this one. I too wish it were a three column with both columns on the right.
Randa, I like the theme you are using as well. Are you planning on putting together some free wordpress themes to help jump start your design biz? Let me know if you do so I can give them a whirl.
Char’s right. You are very talented as is she!
Thanks! I am planning on releasing some wordpress themes. I’m knee deep in a project right now that has put the plans for that on the back burner, but when I do, I think it will be a 3 column with 2 on the right to start with. This one I’m using is a bit difficult to work with, but it’s ok. Keep an eye out here for my first theme, sometime the next couple of months!
The Drop Shadow them is very nice indeed – wouldn’t take all that much to hack it into 3 cols. Perhaps I’ll leave it to Brian…
Your latest theme is beautiful. I love the circle theme too! Great job!
Hey Randa:
Brian does do nice work. And you’re not too shabby yourself. I’m with you on the 3-column issue. I love the extra room to stretch things out. I just released several 3-column themes if you’re interested. You can find them here: http://www.themes.solostream.com
Best – Michael
